Port of Ponta Delgada (St. Michael's Island)
Port of Ponta Delgada on the South coast of St. Michael's Island/Azores has a strategical location for all vessels crossing the Atlantic and possibly needing bunkers, provisions, repairs, crew change and others, including the cruise vessels when performing transatlantic voyages or repositioning the fleet.
The port is divided as follows:
- The Commercial Harbour;
- The Commercial anchorage to the East of the port entrance (Free anchorage area to the South of the port);
- New cruise jetty, “PORTAS DO MAR”, with a passenger terminal and other facilities;
- Marina.
Main Imports:
- Fuel, gasoil, gasoline, butane, maize, wheat, cereals, animal feed stuff, fertilizers, clinker and manufactured goods.
Main Exports:
- Wood, dairy products and some manufactured goods.
